We encompass the essence of what hospitality was like in the 1920s and strive to deliver a personal touch that makes each stay special.
Wake up to fresh brewing coffee and a three course breakfast in the main dining area at 9:00 am (alternate times available upon request). We keep the fridge stocked with water and soft drinks as well as snacks available all day. We can also accommodate any special requests prior to your stay.
The Red Gate Inn offers free high-speed internet for our guests and plenty of space to work or look up all of the exciting events happening in Downtown McKinney.
The beautifully manicured grounds at The Red Gate Inn provide a serene, retreat-like atmosphere where guests can enjoy a picnic lunch with friends or set up for a special event with the most amazing setting and ambiance. We also have the ability to accommodate a small wedding and reception at the romantic outdoor chapel. (Please call or email us for more details and any questions you might have.)
We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible with all the amenities. Our rooms are refreshed each day with clean towels and extra spa inspired toiletries by Gilchrist & Soames are available upon request. For a special treat, enjoy a relaxing soak in the claw foot tub while your towel is warming up beside you.
Looking forward to a relaxing evening after a day of sight seeing in Downtown McKinney? Enjoy a glass of wine or make a cocktail at the bar, sit out on the covered porch or just hang out in the comfortable living room in front of the cozy fireplace. We also have a variety of games and a Karaoke machine! Enjoy Southern Hospitality at its finest!

THINGS TO DO
Historic Downtown McKinney has been the heart of the community since 1848 offering a variety of unique shops, fine restaurants, breweries and cafes, making it the perfect destination.
Be sure to visit the many historic museums, Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sactuary, as well as the Chestnut Square Historic Village (a preserved village with houses dating from 1854 - 1930).
If you're planning on staying during the weekend, book a Food Walk Tour and learn a little McKinney history while sampling the delicious flavors.
This is highly recommended.
Depending on the time of year, Downtown McKinney offers art shows, wine tasting, car shows, walking tours, and concerts in the park.
Just let us know what you like to do and we will be able to provide you with some unique activities tailored to your specifications.
After breakfast, take a walk through the historic district neighborhood and hook up with one of many scenic walking trails. A must see is the Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney with its paved walkways, picnic tables and many varieties of Crape Myrtles (trees) along the way.
If you're a wine enthusiast, be sure to visit the Mitas Hill Vineyard located just outside of McKinney. Sign up for a tour, or simply relax and enjoy the incredible scenery while sipping wine and eating wood-fired pizza.
This place is amazing. The house has old style charm with all the amenities you need. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast was out of this world. We stayed in the desert rose room and the bed was super comfortable. The grounds are also amazing with lush trees and plenty of room to roam or sit and have a glass wine or a cup of coffee. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a first class B&B. It's close to downtown McKinney and they can even host events.
